George set up and successfully ran the London based importing company, Westside Drinks and was responsible for sourcing and managing a handpicked portfolio of import brands including Sierra Nevada, one of the UK’s largest selling and most profitable craft beer brands. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale grew in the UK from 6,000HL to over 20,000HL in under 5 years. Having spent time in California working alongside the senior management team he also has a thorough understanding of the US beer market and what it takes to build a successful brand globally.

IMPORT:
Experienced at working with Brand Owners to develop strategy and joint owned territory specific sales and brand plans. George also ran social, ATL and BTL marketing campaigns in line with strategy.
Recruiting and managing sales and marketing teams to deliver objectives, he implemented sales programs across multiple channels including: Direct Free On-Trade, Off Trade, National Accounts, National and London Wholesale, Managed Pub and Restaurant groups, Leased and Tenanted pubs. He also created and developed an events team in order to deliver brand placement and significant volumes in line with brand objectives.

He is an experienced exporter, has strong relationships with proven import and distributor partners and a history of delivering long term profitable growth in Europe and Russia (average of +23% per annum)

Thirty years of unparalleled experience, and knowledge of exporting with a worldwide contact list of importers and distributors.
Michael has held directorships in export since 1989 heading up international businesses at Scottish and Newcastle, Morland PLC, Greene King and most recently Fulller Smith and Turner PLC.
At Fuller's Michael ran an export team that grew sales and profits four fold in 10 years to over £8 million. He grew the business from 10 countries to over 80 with export volumes representing a quarter of Fuller's overall production.

Michael has extensive knowledge and understanding of Export alcohol licensing, procedures, Incoterms, legislation, packaging, labelling and credit requirements internationally.

His contacts stretch to all corners of the globe with history of building high growth and profitable businesses in US, Canada, Latin America, Japan, China, Asia, Australasia, Russia and Europe.
